Toni's Mom Passing

A Chinese Poem: The tree wants to be still but the wind keeps blowing; the children want to care for their parents but they are no longer there.

December was a sad month for us. We lost Toni's mom after a lengthy illness. It was hard to grieve our loss during the season for celebration. The only relief was that at the end she suffered no pain.
Mom had a wonderful full life to the 90s. Her love reached four generations. Our fond memories of her as a loving mother, grand, and great grandma are always with us.

Granddaughters Birthdays and 40th Anniversary Surprise

We celebrated Kelsey(8) and Kara(2)
birthdays together in Austin last week-end. Kara suddenly grew up after Alessi(1+) , her baby cousin, showed up
Ya-Ya tried to make Kara show
her two-year-old sign, she thought that was fun

In the morning, all the kids had a good time at the breakfast table.
Marcus and Alex and the family arrived at mid-night from Denver to surprise us for our 40th anniversary. That was the best gift --- another family reunion; we could hug all the kids again.

The next day, we went shopping at St. Marcos. The men kept their eyes on the children while the wives went into stores. The children behaved so good and l took this picture. I commented that they were better than the bunch in the "Sound
of Music" ! Posted by Picasa
